Producers and the cast also revealed the first trailer for "The Walking Dead" season 9 at San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come. You can see the trailer below for the new season, which will premiere on October 7 on AMC.

Despite his love for the show, it was time for Lincoln to pack up. While it may have lost a few viewers in the past year or so, it's still a powerhouse genre show, and aimed to demonstrate that big changes are coming. The latter, the departure of Rick Grimes, is a massive shift away from the source material where Rick is still alive and in charge. By that I mean they're walker bait.

The trailer also teases the show's next big villains, the Whisperers, who are a huge comic threat.
