Jordan has denied the allegations and said if he knew about abuse, he would have reported it. He's the fourth former wrestler to come forward to NBC and say that Jordan, a former assistant coach at Ohio State, knew of allegations of abuse against Strauss.
Mark Coleman, who reportedly roomed with Jordan on more than one road trip while they were at the school in the 1990s, said there is "no way" Jordan didn't know what was going on. "No question in my mind", Trump said.
He added, "We not only stand by him, but believe him to be a man of character and honor, and Congress would be well served to have more Jim Jordans serving on Capitol Hill".
DiSabato told Fox News that Jordan's response to his claims has been "disappointing".
"It's not true. I never knew about any type of abuse", Jordan told Politico. "When you look at the definition of sexual abuse and sexual assault - and Jim Jordan went on record saying he knew about the facilities, he took showers with us".
DiSabato told CNN's Brooke Baldwin on Wednesday that not only was Jordan aware of the alleged abuse, but that he witnessed inappropriate behavior from Strauss in the team shower.
England end their penalty curse, beat Colombia in petulant game
Referee Mark Geiger immediately pointed to the spot, and Kane buried his sixth goal of the tournament to give England the lead. There was still plenty of time for England to respond, but the players looked devoid of ideas and paralysed by fear.
Jordan was an assistant coach for the Ohio State wrestling team from 1986 to 1994.
Jordan's spokesman said the Republican congressman is now working with investigators to set up a meeting.
Ian Fury, a spokesman for Jordan, said the congressman never saw or heard about any abuse and never had any abuse reported to him during his time as a coach at Ohio State. Concerned in mid-April that Ohio State might ignore the accusations, he said he emailed Mr. Jordan asking for help, but heard nothing back.
"I participated with [Jordan] and the other wrestlers in locker-room talk about Strauss". In a video shared with NBC, former head wrestling coach Russ Hellickson said he confronted Strauss and told school officials. "It was very common knowledge in the locker room that if you went to Dr. Strauss for anything, you would have to pull your trousers down".
Jordan will sit down TONIGHT at 6:00pm ET with Bret Baier for a live, exclusive interview, offering his first detailed response to the allegations made by several former wrestlers. "Jim Jordan has an obligation to cooperate fully with that investigation".
Vitter appeared to be referring to a report published Thursday by the conservative Daily Caller, which noted two of Jordan's accusers, Mike DiSabato and Dunyasha Yetts, had histories of engaging in troubling business dealings.
