Questions about troop levels arose after US officials repeatedly said the Trump administration isn't pursuing regime change in North Korea and is willing to offer undefined security guarantees to Kim's regime.

The US has offered North Korea "unique" security guarantees to persuade it to give up its nuclear arsenal, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday, on the eve of a historic summit in Singapore. Only after that initial personal session will national security officials join the meeting.

Foreign policy expert Gordan Chang noted Monday on "The Laura Ingraham Show" that Trump's willingness to meet with Kim face-to-face is a "concession" of sorts that was necessary to bring the high-stakes meeting to fruition.

Trump needs to walk away from the meeting "with some sort of document", says Joel Wit, a former State Department official who's negotiated with Kim's representatives - and it must include the word "denuclearization".

As reported by the Straits Times, Pompeo further said that the sanctions would remain until "verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation" was achieved. Whether the talks break down, whether they come to an agreement, whether agree to agree or even agree to disagree I think Kim comes out a victor. "Tomorrow, we will get our clearest indication to date whether Chairman Kim Jong-un shares this vision", Pompeo said.

The White House said Trump will leave Singapore 15 hours ahead of schedule, flying back to Washington on Tuesday night instead of Wednesday morning.

Federation Internationale de Football Association delays talks on possible 48-team Qatar World Cup
The FIFA World Cup 2018 opening ceremony will take place at 6.30 pm IST on June 14, at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Anderson told Arab News: "It's only the fourth time in history the Saudi team has made it through to the World Cup ".

"The Trump administration deserves tremendous credit for bringing Kim Jong-un to the table through its pressure campaign".

"I wouldn't trust what they say, and I don't think anyone would trust what they say or trust anyone who's been an adversary for as long as they have".

The latest update we have came from a Tweet on Trump's feed. Trump said last week that Rodman had not been invited to the summit.

According to analysts, North Korea can demand the U.S. that the latter remove its nuclear weapons from the former's region.

Preliminary talks have been taking place between officials from both countries, which the United States has said are moving "more quickly than expected".
