Tweeting about Saturday's meeting, China's envoy to India, Luo Zhaohui, said Xi and Modi had discussed the "implementation of Wuhan consensus and drawing (up a) blueprint for future China-India relations". Gokhale also said that the bilateral meeting between the two leaders, on the sidelines of the SCO summit, was "positive".

The prime minister also met Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the president of Uzbekistan and discussed ways of deepening ties between the two countries. Putin arrived on June 8 for a state visit to China and will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Leaders Summit in the eastern port city of Qingdao on June 9-10.
