Have the Celtics made another offer for Kawhi Leonard?

Lakers Rumors: LA's Pitch to Sign Paul George Has Been Revealed

A Lakers Fan Has Put Up 40 (Yes, 40) Billboards to Recruit Paul George

On the other hand, the Lakers are apparently feeling pressure to find a way to lure James or George (or both) to Los Angeles.

The Spurs have received trade offers from the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN, but reports in the past have identified the Lakers as the team Leonard prefers to be dealt to. It means the Celtics would have to include a group of players just to fit Leonard's $20.1 million 2018-19 salary into the team. It's widely believed that James is hesitant to be the first star player to sign with the Lakers while recent reports indicate George might re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The most challenging obstacle could be finding a way to acquire Kawhi Leonard.

In the latest batch of Kawhi Leonard trade rumors, the Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly are inquiring about acquiring Leonard.

For the Lakers, it's a dicey position, offering some of their young core players and future draft picks, knowing it would rid them of their depth if they do land a super-team or harm their future if they land Leonard, but not George or James.

Wojnarowski followed that up by noting the Los Angeles native wants to play in his hometown, preferably for the Lakers.

It is true that the Spurs have no leverage whatsoever, because the sense is that Leonard is not going to play for them again.

One agent recently suggested to Business Insider that the Spurs should not trade Leonard, barring a mega-offer. On top of that, he has one year left on his contract, and is absolutely impossible to trust that he will be coming back after one season. Leonard and James would be quite the formidable duo, and there's no doubt they and the rest of the team would reach their full potential under head coach Gregg Popovich.

Right now, it's a wait and see game between Paul George and where he will choose and LeBron James who will likely make his decision after other big moves have been made.

Another preference by James that could impact free agency, league sources said, is that he wants to make a decision quickly in July free agency.
