Is the Nokia X6 Cannibalizing the Nokia 6 Series?

Nokia X6 has finally gone official in China with three variants. There is also a notch on the display, which is the reason why the smartphone has a taller aspect ratio. The company has used the dual camera setup at the rear equipped with AI and HDR features. Dubbed as Nokia X6, the smartphone will go on sale in China from 21st May, for a starting price of 1,299 Yuan, which roughly converts to $204.

Nokia X6 is constructed out of glass on the front and back with a metal frame.

The Nokia X6 sports a 5.8-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio protected a by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer on top. The phone lacks octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor with Adreno 509 GPU. The onboard storage will be expandable via microSD card.

In terms of battery, The Nokia X6 has a 3060 mAh battery pack, comes with Quick Charge 3.0 and a 18W charger that can deliver up to 50 percent charge in 30 minutes. Nokia X6 launches on the same day as the OnePlus 6, though the phone is limited to China for now.

The smartphone is available in Blue, Black and Silver colour options and is priced approximately Rs. 13,830 for the 4/32GB variant; approximately Rs. 15,980 for the 4/64GB model and approximately Rs. 18,090 for the 6/64GB model. Further, the phone comes loaded with bothie feature, which basically utilises both front and rear cameras to capture a picture.

Coming to the price of the new Nokia X6, it starts at CYN 1,299 (Rs 12,300 approximately) for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage space. It measures 147.20 x 70.98 x 8.59 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 151.00 grams.

Further, the smartphone also comes with a Face Unlock feature as well as a fingerprint sensor placed on the back panel. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5 mm headphone jack, FM Radio, and USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.
