A Maryland man shot and killed three people after he went chasing after his wife who ran from their home in terror after her husband held her captive there for the preceding weekend.
Montgomery County police Monday evening said a standoff in a triple homicide had ended with the suicide of suspect Christopher Snyder, 41.
Snyder reportedly pursued his wife to the neighbor's home, where he allegedly shot and killed three people there before turning the gun on himself. He then hung up and shot himself, police told WRC.
Police say the suspect is known to them, but they can not confirm if the shooting was domestic related. He shot himself around 11 p.m. shortly after tactical officers forced their way into his residence. "Our negotiators have been speaking with him via phone". "First responders came to the scene, they located multiple fatalities and backed out of the house believing it was not safe", said Capt. Paul Starks of Montgomery County Police Department.

There were six people inside the house when Snyder began shooting, Manger said.
His last words over the phone were: 'Did they just break in the front door?' The three weren't the only ones there at the time of the shooting, however. "At that point, officers who were outside the home heard a single gunshot", Manger said.
However, police have had "a number of contacts with this suspect in the past on a number of different issues", Chief Manger said. The neighborhood is not far from the Triadelphia Reservoir and near the Howard County border.
