A ticket sold in New Jersey matched all six numbers from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, NJ.com reported. The winning numbers were 11, 28, 31, 46 and 59, with a Mega Ball of 1, with the victor having the option of walking away with a $317 cash prize.
The jackpot amount had climbed from U.S. $502 million to USA $521 million earlier in the day, but the final amount of the prize hadn't been announced late on Friday. Mega Millions officials say it's the fourth-largest jackpot in the history of the game. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70; the Mega ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25.
The Mega Millions jackpot win comes six years to the day from the record-breaking $656 million Mega Millions was won.
This prize marks the nation's 10th-largest lottery jackpot.
