Gennady Golovkin will defend his middleweight title against Vanes Martirosyan at the Stub Hub Center in California on May 5.

Mexican middleweight superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has received a six-month drugs ban, backdated to February 17 (the date of his first failed test) from the Nevada Commission.

"The only input from the Triple G side, because we feel Triple G is the most damaged person in the situation scrambling to save the May 5 date, it would have been nice to see Canelo getting a fine", said Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler, who attended the hearing.

Alvarez fought Golovkin to a highly disputed draw last September in Las Vegas during an entertaining bout which most experts believed GGG had clearly won. But with Alvarez suspended because of the positive test and so little time between the hearing and the fight promoters made a decision to cancel the bout.

He blamed the positive test on tainted meat from his native Mexico.

It was always Golovkin's intention to fight on May 5th, as he had been in preparations for May 5th for a considerable amount of time.

Konami Announces Castlevania: Grimoire Of Souls With Japanese Beta
At this point we'd be shocked if Konami ever committed to making another big, or even medium, budget Castlevania game on consoles. The game's story is set in a future where Dracula seems to have been completely destroyed, and peace is nearly upon the land.

Martirosyan has lost three of his last six fights, including to Erislandy Lara for the WBA super welterweight crown last May.

"I was on the bench because of boxing politics, but was in the gym waiting and praying for this and God gave me the opportunity", said Martirosyan to the Los Angeles Times.

"It will all come down to what the boxing boards and governing bodies say but, in my opinion, if Canelo fights again then it is a sign to other fighters out there that they will only get a slap on the wrist and it's OK to do it". I didn't ask about money at all.

Alvarez had been a steady attraction in Las Vegas on the Cinco De Mayo weekend, and a consistent star on pay-per-view.

"I want to apologize to all my sponsors, the media and to everyone who is involved in the promotion of this event and especially to the fans".
