Smallville Star Allison Mack Arrested in Sex Cult Case

Federal prosecutors say television actress Allison Mack, from "Smallville" has been charged with sex trafficking for helping recruit women to be slaves of a man who sold himself as a self-improvement guru.

"I have zero opinion on the arrest that this afternoon of Allison Mack", a rep for the celebrity told Foxnews.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the US Attorney's office for the Eastern District of NY alleges that NXIVM recruited slaves into what was called "a woman's only organization" that would help empower them. Raniere supposedly rewarded Mack with money and "other benefits" for every victim she convinced. As Raniere was taken from the villa, The Post's Kyle Swenson wrote, citing prosecutors, the women chased after authorities in their own vehicle at high speed.

Mack, 35, was last seen chasing after the cult's leader Keith Raniere as cops hauled him away from the villa in Mexico where they had been hiding out.

According to court filings, a secret subgroup of NXIVM called "DOS" had levels of women "slaves" headed by "masters".

Both Raniere and Mack face 15 years to life in prison for the charges against them. She told the women they were joining what was purported to be a female mentorship group, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors have asked the court to set Mack's bail "extremely high", considering her a flight risk.

"Today we announce an additional arrest, and an indictment, in a case that brought to light an inconceivable crime", FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Sweeney said.

An actress well-known to fans of the TV show "Smallville" is under arrest in connection with an alleged upstate sex cult.

She is charged in a three-count indictment with sex trafficking, sex trafficking recruiting and conspiracy to commit forced labor, with the victims listed as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2.

Mack was arraigned in federal court in Brooklyn and pleaded not guilty.

Court filings describe how Raniere used Nxivm as an umbrella company to mask a secret society called "DOS", which blackmailed and branded unsuspecting victims before forcing them to participate in sex acts.

Fellow Smallville star Kristen Kreuk, who played Lana Lang from 2001-2009, was a member of the NXIVM organization, but cut ties after leaving in 2012.

Mack was with the 57-year-old Raniere when he was arrested near Puerto Vallarta, according to the Times-Union.

After reports started surfacing about DOS past year, a letter was posted on the NXIVM website, in which Raniere said, "The picture being painted in the media is not how I know our community and friends to be, nor how I experience it myself".
