Harry Kane injury scare for Tottenham and England as striker hobbles off against Bournemouth

Son Heung-Min ensured Tottenham Hotspur didn't pay a heavy price for an ankle injury suffered by Harry Kane as he scored twice in a win 4-1 at Bournemouth on Sunday.

Thankfully though, Tottenham's boss doesn't think the injury will cause a "big issue".

Bournemouth took the early lead and things got worse for the away side when Harry Kane suffered an injury on the same ankle that kept him out for about three weeks last season. "We hope it is not a massive issue for him and the team and hope he can recover as soon as possible and be available".

"I think he wants to build a successful team. After some time, to play a Premier League game again it is tough".

Despite the victory, Arsenal is 12 points adrift of fourth place and Arsene Wenger's team selection suggested his attention is now firmly focused on the Gunners's Europa League campaign.

Ten minutes into the second half, Tottenham nearly took the lead when Christian Eriksen unleashed a powerful long-range shot which looked destined for the bottom corner, but Asmir Begovic produced a fantastic fingertip save to deny him.

Kane is enjoying another fine season in front of goal for Spurs, as the England global is level with Mohamed Salah atop the Premier League scoring charts with 24 goals as he aims for a third straight Golden Boot award. It's a club with a culture to do everything to try to help the team.

Pochettino confirmed that Danny Rose was replaced with "fatigue and a knock" but said the left-back, who was at fault for Bournemouth's goal with Aurier, was not injured, while he said Alli was also tired and would be monitored during the week.

Junior Stanislas had already hit the crossbar when he gave the Cherries a seventh-minute lead, and Spurs then lost Harry Kane to an ankle injury.

Petr Cech saved a penalty on his way to becoming the first goalkeeper to claim 200 Premier League clean sheets.

The England global is due to have a scan tomorrow to determine the full extent of the injury so Tottenham will be praying for positive news when the results come back. He is not only Tottenham's most important player but an exceptionally consistent one who always delivers the goods.
