'Idol' Contestant Apologizes to Katy Perry for Loving Taylor Swift

Katy Perry says she 'loves' Taylor Swift 'as a songwriter' – but is she just throwing more shade?

Definitely not the best way to make a first impression on the American Idol judges!

Perry brought it up again on ABC's "American Idol" when a contestant said he looks up to Swift as an artist.

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have been feuding for years and days ago, the "Firework" singer found herself face to face with a Swiftie.

Perry handed the phone back to Brenns, who told his mother that he was going to Hollywood and that he was standing in front of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. That opened Perry up for the opportunity to take a shot at her fellow pop star and she diplomatically did so, saying, "I love her...as a songwriter as well".

However, hinting that their ongoing feud wasn't quite dead yet, Katy continued: "I love her... as a songwriter... as well".

In addition, Perry apologized for her end of the feud during an interview with Ariana Huffington. Fans suspected that Taylor's Bad Blood video was aimed at Katy and that Katy's Swish Swish lyrics were about Taylor.

This past year Perry released "Swish Swish" which fans think is about Swift. Perry seemed flustered, though she did keep things cordial. Perry maintained that Swift knew the dancers had already planned to work for Perry when her tour was scheduled to start. "We've had our differences but I just continue to say, 'God bless her on her journey".

When Perry's album Witness dropped in June 2017 Swift re-added all of her discographies to streaming services which fans think was a calculated move to hurt Perry's streaming numbers.
