First Male Victim Files Suit in Nassar Case

A University of MI gymnast has become the first male victim to file a lawsuit claiming sexual abuse by Larry Nassar, according to multiple reports Thursday.

The 23-year-old three-time gold medalist said in her suit that Nassar molested her at national and global championships and at the 2012 London Olympics.

One example. Raisman claims USOC did not provide properly trained medical professionals to supervise Nassar's exams.

But the lawsuit alleges that USA Gymnastics asked Nassar to stop constantly taking photos of gymnasts before Nichols' complaint and should have suspected he was a pedophile.

Jacob Moore was 16 years old when Nassar allegedly pulled down his trousers and purported to treat his shoulder injury "through acupuncture in his pubic area and in and around his genitalia", The Lansing State Journal reported, citing court documents.

According to the Associated Press, more than 100 civil suits have been filed throughout the country against Nassar and USA Gymnastics. In her victim impact statement, which was read at Nassar's first state sentencing hearing on sexual assault charges, Kamerin alleged Jacob had been abused by Nassar.

Denhollander, who became a lawyer, said she was abused as a gymnast in 2000, and slammed those kept Nassar in a position to continue sexual assaults despite multiple victims coming forward. Attorneys for the three-time gold medalist announced the lawsuit Friday.

It has also told secured lenders it was in discussions with lenders for debtor-in-possession financing as it weighed options. Investigators have also seized a number of properties from the two, including jewellery and luxury cars.

"I refuse to wait any longer for these organizations to do the right thing", she said in a statement according to AP.

She has called on federal authorities to independently investigate the USOC and USA Gymnastics.

USOC chief executive Scott Blackmun recently resigned in the wake of this scandal, citing health concerns as his reasoning because he was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Attorney David Mittleman represents 90 of the 256 plaintiffs already suing USA Gymnastics in federal court in MI.

Nassar, who has been accused of sexually abusing more than 260 victims over the past 20 years, is a co-defendant in the suit. Several others gymnasts and the daughter of Nassar's former family friends have detailed in interviews and in court statements that Nassar abused them in his basement. "My own brother, imagine that", she said while addressing Nassar in court.

Aly Raisman's sexual assaulter Larry Nassar will die in prison for his convicted crimes, but the Olympic gymnast isn't stopping there. USA Gymnastics is committed to doing everything we can to prevent this from happening again by making bold decisions and holding ourselves to the highest standards of care. "They need to look at that and change everything because obviously Larry's a monster".
