BB&T bank customers can't access accounts due to 'technical issue'

Several of BB&T's banking services unavailable due to technical issue

An equipment malfunction in one of its data centers is the reason for an outage that caused customers not to have access to their bank accounts, a BB&T spokesperson said.

- BB&T Bank restored ATM and automated phone services after a "technical issue" Thursday evening knocked them out. No word on how long it would take to fix the issue and restore service.

Officials with BB&T said "the issue has been identified and they're working to resolve it as soon as possible". "Shame on you", one customer wrote on BB&T's Twitter page. It's also a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest banks in the US, with its website boasting "over 2,000 financial centers in 15 states and Washington, D.C".
