iOS 11.2.5 is no more than a bug fix release and does not bring anything new to the table in the features department.

Recent reports have revealed that a new bug is causing Apple's ecosystem to be less than stellar as it can cause iOS devices to freeze and restart.

Masri link takes you to a site that contains hundreds of thousands of unnecessary characters within its metadata. It can also cause the Safari internet search tool on the company's Mac laptops and desktops to crash. This bug won't cause your device to crash or damage itself permanently, but it is a pain in the ass. Masri's warning in his tweet to "not use it for bad stuff" is not a joke - several people who couldn't resist finding out what would happen are shouting about it in his replies. "My main goal was to reach out to Apple and say, 'Hey, you've been ignoring my bug reports.' I always report the bug before releasing something", the developer said.

Until a fix is officially released, you can't do much to work around the issue, especially if you receive a link to an unknown website.

Crude Oil Steady Ahead Of Inventories
USA crude inventories were estimated to have fallen 3.5 million barrels in the week ended January 12, according to a Reuters poll. This would put the US on par with Saudi Arabia and Russia's output, ” Razaqzada said .

All users have to do is send a link to a web page hosting a piece of JavaScript code that attempts to send an SMS message. He added: "Nasty. But, thankfully, more of a nuisance than something that will lead to data being stolen from your computer or a malicious hacker being able to access your files". The vulnerability test is not done on the latest iOS 11.2.5 beta 6 so far.

As ever, the best method of defence against this kind of bug is to regularly update your phone, tablet and computer's software.

Apple is no stranger to software bugs.
