Sony Xperia XA2 vs XA2 Ultra: What's the difference?

Sony revamps mid-range w/ Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, adds new fingerprint sensor, metal design

Sony is finally shipping a fingerprint sensor on a phone in the US

As the bigger brother, the Xperia XA2 Ultra features the same rear camera, but adds a dual camera setup to the front of the phone.

The first device to be announced, the XA2 boasts a powerful 23-megapixel Exmor RS camera sensor that comes in 1/2.3-inch size and has 84-degree, f/2.0 wide-angle lens main camera that promises "clear low-light photography".

Lastly, the company also introduced an entry level Sony Xperia L2 along with the above-mentioned smartphones.

Talking about the smartphones, the Sony Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra differ in terms of some of the specifications.

The 3,300 mAh battery and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform means you can do more of what you love for longer with smooth and speedy performance.

Both the Xperia XA2 and the Xperia XA2 Ultra will hit the United Kingdom in February 2018. Prior Sony devices featured a fingerprint sensor integrated in the power button, but the new phones have now moved it to the back of the device like many other phones.

No deal in place for Gerrit Cole
Though Cole is coming off his worst season - 12-12 with a 4.26 ERA in 33 starts - he is capable of being an elite starter. MLB Network's Jon Morosi was first to report that the teams have agreed to terms on a trade.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra has 8-megapixel 120-degree super wide-angle dual front cameras, both of which have front-firing flash.

The Xperia XZ1 Plus and Xperia XZ1s will come loaded with 5.5-inch FHD HDR LCD display and 5.2-inch Full HD display respectively. The other two new smartphones, the Xperia XA2 and Xperia L2, feature similar styling and specs along with more compact form factors. On the front both smartphones have an 8MP ultra wide fixed-focus camera to get all your friends in the frame. This doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be underpowered phones, as both offer a Snapdragon 630 processor and similarly sized batteries (3,300 mAh for the XA2 and 3,580 mAh for the XA2 Ultra). Sony Xperia XA2 comes in silver, black, blue and pink, while the Xperia XA2 Ultra replaces to pink with gold and the Xperia L2 offers black, gold and pink hues. The Ultra sticks with a 6-inch 1080p screen. The report highlights that the device will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. "We're targeting 2018 as a breakthrough year, and look forward to showcasing further innovations across the entire Xperia portfolio over the coming months", Hideyuki Furumi, EVP of Sony's global sales & marketing, said in a statement. Whereas, the Xperia XA2 will allegedly feature a 5-inch display. This array contains a 16-megapixel selfie camera with optical image stabilization, as well as the same 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. The smartphone packs a 3850mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge support.

But it's got a decent 3,300mAh battery that benefits from Sony's Xperia smart charging technologies.

"As stated by Sony, the Xperia L2's expansive 5.5" HD screen is great for enjoying video, browsing and social networks on the go.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra boasts a familiar Sony design, which isn't the most exciting out there, but it is at least functional.
