India says $500 million missile deal with Israel will move ahead

India last month voted for a resolution at the UN General Assembly opposing US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

In a statement, Netanyahu praised the budget as "excellent", saying it "reflects our consistent and responsible policies: A budget that, on one hand, maintains growth and economic strength, and on the other hand, takes care of the social needs of all Israeli citizens".

In addition to the Bollywood event, January 18 sees Netanyahu hosting a business seminar then attending a memorial ceremony for Jewish victims of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Both India and Israel are eager to expand bilateral trade, from the present annual value of $4bn to $10bn by 2022.

Indias Kalyani group and Israels state-run Rafael Advanced Defence Systems had commissioned a Rs 70 crore production facility near Hyderabad in August previous year, anticipating that the Israeli firm would bag the contract.
