Mega Millions jackpot up to $363 million

9th largest Powerball jackpot up for grabs

Powerball, Mega Millions have $783M up for grabs to start new year

For those with a resolution to get rich in 2018, the state lottery is starting the year with three of its highest jackpots, totalling over $790 million, according to a statement from the Massachusetts State Lottery.

And Americans do love buying lottery tickets.

Between the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots, $801 million is up for grabs. Nobody won Saturday's drawing but 2.2 million people won almost $19 million in non-jackpot prizes.

Hard Freeze Warning and Wind Chill Advisory issued
Anyone out celebrating overnight will get an extra blast of arctic air that could drop temperatures to -5 and -20 degrees. Otherwise, the main story line tonight will be the cold temperatures and low wind chills.

Classic Lotto's jackpot has increased to a relatively modest $26.3 million after no tickets matched Monday's winning numbers of 13-16-22-28-39-45 Kicker 118639.

The last time anyone won was on October 13, when Mega Millions winners in MI and Rhode Island shared the $42 million drawing. The largest Powerball jackpot on record was $1.586 billion, which was won last January. It was sold in MA. Multipliers are available in all states offering the games except California, which bans the type of fixed prize payouts awarded by multipliers. The chances of winning the Powerball jackpot are slightly better, at about 1 in 293 million. You can watch the drawing live at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday, right before News 6 at 11 p.m.
