Samsung Notebook 9 2018 models include 2-in-1 “Pen” version

Last year, Samsung kept the design of its Notebook 9 simple and light but didn't sport attractive features like high-resolution display or hybrid design.The new Notebook 9 Pen is ready to take on Microsoft Surface devices with its built-in battery-free S Pen stylus.

Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) features a clamshell design, and comes with options for 13.3-inch or a 15-inch displays.

The Samsung Notebook 9 Pen, a 13.3-inch 2-in-1 notebook, will have an integrated S Pen, similar to the Notebook 9 Pro, which was introduced in May. "The 13" Notebook 9 is the thinnest of the bunch at 0.59" (14.9 mm) and the Notebook 9 Pen is the thickest, measuring 0.65" (16.5 mm) at its thickest point. The screen will be able to support 1920 x 1080 resolution.

While Samsung hasn't revealed all of the hardware details yet, it has revealed the changes these 2018 models bring versus the current versions.

The Notebook 9 and Notebook 9 Pen will be available this month in Korea, and the first quarter of 2018 in the United States.

All of the new PCs include Intel's new eighth-generation U-series Core i7 processors, which means that they're quad-core and there's going to be a significant boost in performance from the last generation. The 15-inch models will however, be coming with Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU. Its superior magnesium aluminium body keeps the notebook light at 2.2 pounds while allowing a 360-degree access.

The Notebook 9 (2018) will be running on Windows 10 and it will be available with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage.

It features a 75Wh Hexacell battery which is one of the most powerful batteries that Samsung has ever equipped with a notebook.

The refined S Pen lets users write, sketch, paint, doodle and more. Samsung hasn't announced price or release date of the notebooks yet, but the new lineup should be priced upwards of $1000 (or approx Rs 64,285).

It features a 13.3-inch Full HD display and is driven by Intel Core i7 processor (8 gen), Intel HD graphics and up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. In addition to fingerprint sensor, the Notebook 9 Pen also gets an IR camera for Windows Hello facial recognition.

Samsung's next-generation premium notebooks have been announced ahead of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). They will be showcased by Samsung at CES 2018 in Las Vegas next month.
