Greater Baton Rouge has suffered a 14 percent decrease in Red Kettle donations in comparison to last year's donations. Local officials believe the charity will meet or surpass its $515,000 fundraising goal for the year.

The funds raised through the Red Kettle program in Baton Rouge are used directly in the 10-Parish service area of the Greater Baton Rouge command.

They've been contributing to the cause for over 20 years.

While shoppers may still hear bells ringing tonight, collections will end on Saturday night.
