Wenger gearing up for “big game, challenging one” at Man City

Arsene Wenger hands Mathieu Debuchy Arsenal lifeline, backs defender for centre-back role

Injury-plagued Jack Wilshere is ready for a return to the England squad despite featuring sparingly this season, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger decalred today. I urge them [the England coaching staff] to do it [call him up].

Southgate will name the players who have made the cut on Thursday, with Wenger revealing he had spoken to the England boss about Wilshere in recent days.

Even though Wilshere is not yet a regular in the Premier League team, Wenger has backed the 25-year-old for a return to the worldwide fold this month, ahead of a push for England's squad for the 2018 World Cup.

While Wilshere had to be carefully managed at the start of a season, following an injury-curtailed loan spell at Bournemouth past year, Wenger said that was no longer the case, and that he was as fit as anyone in his squad.

Wilshere has impressed in the Europa League and Carabao Cup for the Gunners this season, playing as one of the two attacking midfielders behind the striker - positions that are occupied by Sanchez and Ozil in Wenger's Premier League lineup.

Unlike earlier instances, Conricus said that this time the IDF put an "active tunnel" out of operation, one which was still being dug.

"When you have been so frustrated at so many times, every positive experience is welcome".

However Wenger believes that now's the moment for the midfielder to return: "Personally, I think he's ready. In the system we play, I see him a bit more advanced". That means the likes of Mesut Özil, Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sánchez will not be used on Thursday as they prepare for the tough test against Premier League front runners Manchester City on Sunday.

"He just asked me how he is, and I said, look, I have no restriction, he is very good", Wenger said.

"A super fit Jack; I don't know how you leave him out of the England squad". "He's completely treated like any other player for three weeks".

The Gunners boss said: "We are all very pleased for him here because he has gone through some very hard moments with setback". For the past three weeks the manager has been able to treat him like every other member of his squad in terms of training and conditioning work.
