The popular massage chain Massage Envy is facing allegations of more than 100 sexual assaults at franchise locations according to reports

Buzzfeed published the investigation into Massage Envy on Sunday, revealing more than 180 reported sexual assaults at Massage Envy locations across the U.S. According to that lawsuit, a client alleged Rosario inserted his fingers into her vagina during a massage.

A former Massage Envy masseuse in Greenville had his license revoked earlier this year, over a sexual assault claim. "I was feeling shame, which I understand from lots of therapy is very common", she said.

BuzzFeed reported Sunday that more than 180 women have filed police reports, complaints to state boards and lawsuits in civil court over the years against Massage Envy, a franchise that claims almost 1,200 locations across 49 states, including locations in the Columbia Tech Center in Vancouver and Hazel Dell Towne Center, along with three locations in Portland.

The Buzzfeed "article references 180 reported incidents", the company said in a statement to The Washington Post.

According to an ABC News report, one woman is suing after she said she was assaulted in 2015 at a Massage Envy in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The complaint goes on to state that she stopped the massage when Wilson touched her bare breasts.

Many victims say the company's response was insulting.

As more information comes in about the lawsuits, Independent Journal Review will keep you posted. The therapist who assaulted her was later sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The franchise where Ingram says she was assaulted declined to comment.

More than 100 other women reported that Massage Envy employees "groped their genitals, groped their breasts, or committed other explicit violations" during massages, the BuzzFeed report said.

"Each of these incidents are heartbreaking for us and for the franchisees that operate Massage Envy locations".

"We hold franchise owners accountable to our policies and, when we say nothing is more important to us than treating clients with respect and giving them a safe, professional experience, we mean it."
"It's why we are constantly listening, learning and looking at how we can do more, including how we support franchised locations with best practices in handling these incidents and supporting their clients".
