And Jennifer Lawrence was rocking a casual look when she touched down in London on Wednesday ahead of the United Kingdom premiere of her new thriller Mother!. The story of the flick is based on a young woman who goes through some terrible experience with her husband after the arrival of a mysterious couple. Ed Harris (Westworld) and Michelle Pfeiffer (The Wizard of Lies) round out the main cast of mother! and, like Bardem, are receiving top marks for their respective performances in the film thus far.

Mother!, which is competing for the festival's Golden Lion prize, stars Aronofsky's girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence as the wife of a creatively blocked poet, played by Spanish actor Javier Bardem.

In The Guardian, Peter Bradshaw says Aronofsky's "toweringly outrageous film leaves no gob unsmacked", calling it "an event-movie detonation, a phantasmagorical horror and black-comic nightmare".

She and Aronofsky were careful not to be photographed together, and instead she posed with Bardem and Pfeiffer.

Other possible motives include student anger over changes to the school calendar as well as Matiangi's tough approach to reforms. This sentiment was echoed by some students interviewed by the Nation , who also asked the police to investigate the girl.

The movie has divided critics, who have struggled to categorise it, but Lawrence said she enjoys projects that don't fit into one genre.

Lawrence, 26, was drawn to Aronofsky, 48, during the film's production. If you're Jennifer Lawrence, you find the most handsome sheer ballgown hanging in your wardrobe (or closet, as she probably calls it) and throw it on. You'll either get something you want from mother! or you'll feel like you were robbed.

He said, "I think there is absolutely a connection". Critics seem to agree "Mother!", while capturing political and religious undertones, could very well be an allegory of Aronofsky's own life being married to a famous egocentric artist.

Mother! is the latest psychological thriller starring Lawrence and directed by Aronofsky. See mother! if you have the stomach for it (a quick Google search reveals that it's intense). Tweets reflected a sense that mother! might have to sit with viewers to be fully understood.
