Cleveland Browns reduce roster to 53

Osweiler signed a one-year deal with the Broncos Monday after being released by the Browns three days earlier, per Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post.

Following that season Osweiler rejected a multi-year deal to stay in the mile high city, instead accepting a four year $72m offer from the Houston Texans.

Osweiler was cut by the Cleveland Browns on Friday but his former team in Denver swooped up the Kalispell product.

Just 18 months ago, the idea of Osweiler returning to Denver seemed almost implausible considering the way things ended between the Broncos and their former quarterback.

"I have nothing but love and appreciation for this organization, for John Elway, for Joe Ellis, for the Bowlen family, just for this community, " said Osweiler, who went 5-2 in the games he started in 2015 in place of Peyton Manning, who had an injured foot.

One month later, Osweiler spurned the Broncos and signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Houston Texans as an unrestricted free agent.

However, that lone loss was a 3-0 defeat against Germany away from home which does indicate that this could be another tough game. Germany confirmed lineup: ter Stegen - Hector, Ginter, Hummels, Kroos, Stindl, Özil, Werner, Müller (C), Kimmich, Brandt.

Siemian emerged as the Broncos' starter past year following Osweiler's departure 48 hours after Manning's retirement. The quarterback said he chose Houston over Denver because he felt had a better chance at long-term success with the Texans. On Saturday, Elway said the Broncos would welcome Osweiler back "with open arms". "That didn't weigh into my decision whatsoever". Unfortunately, the decision to go with Kizer put a damper on all that.

Desperation, thy name is Brock Osweiler. "However, in saying that, this is Trevor Siemian's team, and right now, my job is to be backup of this football team and do it to the best of my ability". We were able to get it fixed.

Osweiler is not only a Bronco again, he has returned to his more familiar role as backup.

Scenery matters. It didn't work out for Osweiler in Houston previous year.

Osweiler, who played for the Broncos two seasons ago, was resigned by Denver nearly immediately following getting cut by the Cleveland Browns. We know that Brock can win football games with us. Cleveland owes Osweiler $16 million of his guaranteed salary, but will only have to pay $15.225 million, while Denver will pay the remaining $775,000, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
